Online Certificate Programs in Personal Training

Personal trainers devise workout plans and push their clients to do their best to get the most out of their workouts. As fitness experts, they have to keep up with the newest exercise equipment and activities, but the safety of their clients is always their top priority.

The best trainers can also help you with your diet, lifestyle, and weight loss by giving you expert advice and support. Many people learn to master these different skills through online personal trainer programs.

A person who wants to get a personal training certification can usually do it online in one year. Most programs will teach you about basic fitness, equipment, and safety. Usually, people who get a certificate can start working right away. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) says that personal trainers will continue in high demand until 2024.

Vocational Certificate

People who finish online certificate programs to become personal trainers can choose where they want to work. People who like to work one-on-one as personal trainers are often entrepreneurs.

In a health club or gym, they devise specific fitness plans for each client. Others use their knowledge of fitness to work as group trainers and instructors. Usually, these professionals are hired by a fitness center and do more than plan and lead group classes. Most certificate programs in personal training have the same basic requirements for admission, like a high school diploma or GED and a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Usually, it takes two semesters to get a vocational certificate in personal training. Students will learn the basics of teaching fitness and making fitness plans. Most of the time, the best programs also come with a CPR certification and classes on health and safety.

Since many trainers work for themselves, many schools also offer courses on starting your own business. Most schools have at least one system that gives students hands-on experience to learn about the real world safely.
